You are a multi-faceted person!

Do you ever wonder who you really are?

  • At one time in life you were a student.  Your grades reflected if you were a good student or not.  You may have measured who you were by your grades (or lack of them).
  • You may have participated in extra-curricular activities that defined who you were.
  • As you grew up you completed your education, you might have a certificate declaring who you are – a teacher, a doctor, a psychologist, etc.  Does that define who you are?
  • You entered the work force.  Does the work you do or how well you do your work define who you are?
  • Then you started a family.  Do your children define you?  Are you a Mom or a Dad?  Does the behavior of your kids define you?  Does their performance define you?  How about their abilities?
  • Soon you got really busy and swamped by life.  Sometimes it hurt.  Sometimes others hurt you and said nasty things about you.  Sometimes you seemed lost.  You felt as though you didn’t know who you were.  Were other people right about me?  The feelings can overwhelm you.

The truth – you are all of these things (well except what others may say about you – that’s only their perspective!)  Every experience you go through forms another facet of your life.
But you do control who you become!  Often you can’t control the circumstances that you are in but you can control your response to them.  Every circumstance you find yourself in can change you to be a better person or not!  You choose your reactions.
You also have a learning opportunity with each circumstance.  Every one of those circumstances is a vehicle to teach you about who you are and who you can become. Determine the life lessons you will learn from each event that comes into your life.  Let those life lessons make you a wise person as you give careful thought to the lessons you are learning.
As you go through life you do not stay one dimensional.  Life is a wonderful gift where you are changed into a multifaceted person. Picture the surface of a cut gemstone.  Hold that gemstone up to the sunlight and watch it create shafts of beautiful light, filling the room with rainbows.
A life where you learn from the lessons that life hands you becomes as brilliant as that gemstone in the sunlight. You too, can fill your world with light and hope as you learn from and share with the world the person you are becoming.

Today -fill the world around you with the rainbow that has become the real you!

Create a Great Day!

I like the above word. What has helped me though in my reaction to negative things that happen in my life, is being at peace, knowing that they all work together for good to those who love God.
