Time Management - The Million Dollar Answer!
Time management is a factor in our lives that needs continual monitoring and re-adjusting. Mostly it needs to be something we implement on a daily basis if we want to accomplish the dreams, desires and goals we have for our lives.
What are the key factors in learning to manage our time?
Know your plan. In order to know if you are being productive you have to know what’s important to accomplish. Only you determine this! What do you want from life and what do you need to do to get it? Those are the things on which you focus your time and efforts. If you don’t have a list of goals, start one now.
Action steps. When you know your goals, write out the action steps you need to take to accomplish that goal. Add at least one action step to every day’s activity list.
Manage the interruptions. This is probably the most difficult step of all. How do you handle the long phone calls, the people expecting something from you on their time schedule, the demands of housework and family? Evaluate each day and decide what adds to your goals and what subtracts from your goals. Learn to say no! Learn to cut things short. For example, running into someone you haven’t seen in a while: you could end up going for coffee or you could chat for 15 minutes and determine to get in touch again. What is it that you want to accomplish?
Know your priorities. When you know your goals, you usually know your priorities. Never forget your purpose for being here. Make sure you are living according to the things that really matter to you. For instance, when you run into that friend, you might need to take some time to go for coffee. Your relationships are the key to enjoying life. Don’t let your plans interfere with the joy of friendship. The flip side of that coin is knowing when to connect and when to work at other priorities, as well.
I hope some of these thoughts have helped you think of some solutions you might be looking for in managing your time and accomplishing your goals. Please leave a comment about your thoughts on time management. I’d appreciate it!
Create a Great Day!

I find that I just when the schedule is working well a curve ball is thrown my way and I have to revisit the schedule again. This is a good thing, though. It keeps me constantly re-evaluating my priorities and goals and making sure they are part of my life.

I think I’m stuck at number one - not sure where I’m heading. That’s why so often I’m trading the urgent for the important! Thanks for the wise words!
