Do you ever get that feeling of being stuck and unfulfilled? Would you like to live a life of plenty and find success? There is a proverb that says: The thoughts of the steady and diligent bring plenty but impatience and haste lead to unfulfilled desires. If you would like to live a life of plenty as this proverb teaches us there are specific actions to avoid and specific actions you must take.
There are 3 definite actions you must weed out of your life in order to avoid poverty. There are 3 contrasting actions you must apply to reach your goal of living in plenty.
3 Actions that lead to unfulfilled desire:
1. An uncontrolled mind. An unfocused mind wanders all over the place. It doesn’t stay centered on the task at hand. It is scattered all over the place. When you do not control your mind you will never be working effectively. Your thoughts are the #1 key to success or poverty.
2. Impatience. When you are not willing to wait for the desired results you fill your life with impatience. An impatient person is not willing to put in the effort to achieve the desired results. Instead of focusing on effective action they are pushing for the process to be over.
3. Haste. Impatience leads to haste. When you work in haste you produce sloppy work. You are never putting in your best effort. The goal is to get it done not to do it well.
3 Actions that bring plenty:
1. Controlled thoughts. Any attained goal is always dependant on your thoughts. When you focus your thoughts on the goal and control those thoughts you are set on the pathway of success. Keep your thoughts directed to your purpose. You keep your focus clear and expend your thinking on producing the desired outcome.
2. Steady. When I am crossing a rushing river I desire to cross on a steady structure. Working towards your goals by being steady means your actions are sure – they are solid and secure. You are working daily on effective work that will create a steady platform for success.
3. Diligence. Working diligently means working with consistency. You do not work sporadically, as you are motivated but rather you put in diligent effort, constantly.
Set yourself on the right path, today by applying the 3 positive actions daily. Find the motivation you need to reach the dreams and goals that you have for your life.

Yesterday was Mother’s Day. I was having a great day enjoying the gift I have been give of being a Mother. The sun was shining in my world!
Then I overheard a negative conversation some people were having about their Mother’s Day. They were griping about how they wanted a refund on this day! They were complaining about a multitude of things. Suddenly I found my joy starting to evaporate. Maybe I was being too optimistic. Maybe I was fooling myself - was I looking at life through rose-colored glasses?
Thankfully I reigned in my thoughts quickly!! I can choose to enjoy my Mother’s Day and live it in a way that it will always hold special memories for myself.

As I reflected on my sudden mood change I was struck with the enormity of choosing my attitude. The attitude I choose to have throughout each day determines the joy I will have in my life. Even though circumstances may not be favorable I can still choose to have a positive attitude. I can look for the good in everything - and I know that I will find something that is goods - or I can focus on the bad (which can always be found!)
Today I choose a good attitude. No, my life is not perfect right now but I can find a whole lot of things that I am truly thankful for! That is where I choose to place my thoughts, today! How about you? Please tell me your experiences about choosing a positive attitude. I’d love to be inspired by you.
Create a Great Day!

P.S. - Another lesson learned - be careful who you hang out with - they have the power to control your thoughts!

Let’s define success. What does success mean to you?
• Is success having enough money to feed your family?
• Is it to have enough money to give you freedom to choose to do the things you love to do?
• Is success being found favorable in the eyes of others?
• Is success finding recognition for who you are?
• Is success receiving the praise you long to hear?
Each of us has our own definition of success. All of our definitions are right – for each individual. When you decide what success means to you then you have a better goal to aim at. I encourage each of you to define what success would look like in your life.
How do you find success at home business?
A home business that makes a generous income is within each of our grasps. There are a few key actions that will make all the difference in how successful we will be.
1. Do what you love. If you don’t love it you won’t have the lasting endurance that is crucial for succeeding when working from home. This is crucial for many reasons but the main reason: because you are your own boss. When you go to work for someone else you are told what to do and given your assignments that you must complete. But working from home takes self motivation. If it’s going to get done – it’s up to you. You will be committed to a job that you enjoy (on most days)!
2. Find a teacher with integrity. It is important to find a leader you can trust and one who will truly take you to success. Many people want to recruit you into their business for the sole reason of feeding their own motives. People looking to work from home are their greatest target!
Look for a teacher who:
• Actually makes money doing what they teach you to do.
• Is still applying those strategies that made her/him money – is still involved and performing those activities.
• Cares about your success.
• Believes in you and helps you reach your goals when you put into practice their instruction.
• Is reliable. Do they do what they say they will do? Do they do so with integrity?
3. Follow through. All the best intentions in the world will not give us success. We must do the work! When we work diligently and consistently, doing the right things our efforts will pay off in success. When I say “doing the right things” I mean working on the things that actually bring in money. Organizing paper clips will not bring in the money unless you are working for a paper clip company.
4. Realize that success comes with time. If you are looking for instant success you are looking for the wrong thing. Instant success is never lasting success. Instead, determine to pay the price for success and then it will be lasting and rewarding. The price?
5. Most important of all: choose significance! You will only enjoy success in your home business when you search for significance rather than success. Success is a focus on yourself and what you will gain. Significance is focusing on improving someone else’s life. When your focus is on others that is when you will find motivation, fulfillment and true success!
To your significance….

The entertainment on tv that portrays a life that says “You might be rich if….” or “If only you were rich…” is very entertaining to the public. We are fascinated with the thought that we might be rich and all the excitement those riches would bring.
I love the stories of rags to riches and the “Cinderella” fantasies. I’ve always entertained these wonderful fairy tales in my mind. The current tv shows definitely indulge those of us who enjoy this form of entertainment.
So, could you truly wake up one day and find that “you are rich?” TV is leading us to believe in that possibility. That’s why you get the adrenalin rush as you click on the link that tells whether you are on the list of unclaimed property in your state, as you may have seen in the news. Could it possibly be me, this next time?
While it would be exciting and rewarding to discover we could truly cash in, the chances are minimal. Well, minimal in this case. BUT - not minimal in life if you are willing to follow the right path - the one that does lead to your own riches; the gold mine you seek.
What is that path? It’s truly very simple.
- Make sure you are on the path that leads to wealth.
There are many schemes that promise magnificent riches that are just that - schemes! My advice: find a reputable leader, check out their credentials. What are those credentials? Check out whether this leader is doing what she/he tells you to do and whether he/she is making money doing that very thing.
- Work consistently. There is only one road to lasting wealth: be diligent in tending to your work. As you faithfully take the steps necessary your rewards will show up! You will gain the desires of your heart. Be consistent in following the advice of your leader and attain the results that are sweeter than instant cash. Sweeter because you have earned them and learned the lessons it takes to create wealth.
We think it would be nice if there was a short-cut to wealth but in reality the journey prepares us to live with wealth and teaches us how to continue creating it. Let that journey discipline you and prepare you to live your own Cinderella story! Now the odds are in your favor. You’ve gone from ‘the chances of being rich are minimal’ to ‘the chances being great’!!
Create a Great Day!

One of my secret goals is to be a watercolor artist. I would love to create beauty!
This thought struck me today: You are an artist! Every day you use your paint brushes to paint a picture on the hearts of the people you know and the ones you meet. Your words paint your own picture. They also add brush strokes of color to other people’s pictures. Would you like to create beautiful scenes in the lives of other people? When you observe the pictures you are painting, do you enjoy your creation? Your words influence your world and the world of the people around you.
Use your words this day to paint beautiful, memorable pictures on the hearts of your spouse, your kids, your friends, coworkers and the people who cross your path. Make today a special portrait of beauty with the words you are painting onto the hearts of others.
Create a Great Day!

Time management is a factor in our lives that needs continual monitoring and re-adjusting. Mostly it needs to be something we implement on a daily basis if we want to accomplish the dreams, desires and goals we have for our lives.
What are the key factors in learning to manage our time?
Know your plan. In order to know if you are being productive you have to know what’s important to accomplish. Only you determine this! What do you want from life and what do you need to do to get it? Those are the things on which you focus your time and efforts. If you don’t have a list of goals, start one now.
Action steps. When you know your goals, write out the action steps you need to take to accomplish that goal. Add at least one action step to every day’s activity list.
Manage the interruptions. This is probably the most difficult step of all. How do you handle the long phone calls, the people expecting something from you on their time schedule, the demands of housework and family? Evaluate each day and decide what adds to your goals and what subtracts from your goals. Learn to say no! Learn to cut things short. For example, running into someone you haven’t seen in a while: you could end up going for coffee or you could chat for 15 minutes and determine to get in touch again. What is it that you want to accomplish?
Know your priorities. When you know your goals, you usually know your priorities. Never forget your purpose for being here. Make sure you are living according to the things that really matter to you. For instance, when you run into that friend, you might need to take some time to go for coffee. Your relationships are the key to enjoying life. Don’t let your plans interfere with the joy of friendship. The flip side of that coin is knowing when to connect and when to work at other priorities, as well.
I hope some of these thoughts have helped you think of some solutions you might be looking for in managing your time and accomplishing your goals. Please leave a comment about your thoughts on time management. I’d appreciate it!
Create a Great Day!

Are you working diligently at growing, improving and increasing the important things in your life? Your home? Your business? Your family? Your marriage? Your friendships? Your influence?
Being diligent means you are exerting persistent effort to achieve the success you desire; you are being attentive to the work that must be done in the details. Ah, but the details can be so boring. The details can seem so insignificant. And thus, we ignore a small detail. We take it easy on another day thinking, “It’s a small thing – we’ll get to that later.” Gradually things start to pile up.
Suddenly we find ourselves in a mess. Our homes are falling apart. Our businesses are suffering. Our kids are bickering or worse, sullen and unresponsive. Our spouse is distant or worse, hardly ever home. Our friends aren’t calling. We discover that we are not fulfilling our desire to make a difference.
What has happened? We have become careless; a harsher word but closer to reality: we’ve become lazy. We‘ve allowed the little things to slide and as a result we are losing the ground we’ve been working so hard to gain.
Let me paint a word picture. I have a beautiful flower garden. The plants are filled with gorgeous blooms. There isn’t a weed in sight. The edges of the beds are neat and even. The earth is covered with mulch. The grass along the paths is trimmed and lush. I have worked hard to get a flower garden that I get pleasure from.
But one day, I don’t feel like going out to pull weeds, so I don’t. The next day I’m too busy to get out there. And so it goes for a few days. By now the weeds are very visible, the grass needs clipping, and I should be out watering. The job has gotten so big that I can’t find enough time in a day to tackle this overwhelming job. I have lost the motivation to work in my garden as it becomes a tangled mess, filled with weeds and thorns.
The garden brought joy and pleasure as I diligently did the little tasks to keep it growing and producing. The analogy transfers to our lives. The little things, small but so significant, done faithfully over time, produce results that bring joy, pleasure and prosperity.
Consider the areas of your life that you manage. What details do you need to pay continual attention to in order to achieve the results you desire? Take a moment to list the actions that you will take to – not just maintain – but grow and succeed in.
So today I want to pay attention to the details! Care to join me?
Create a Great Day!

There are 3 general levels as to how we relate to life around us. In all the areas of our lives we have a choice to make. You determine the answer to this question: “In which level do I desire to live?”
- Idle. Are there areas of your life where you aren’t putting in any effort? That is a sign of laziness. A lazy person is content to be doing nothing. As a result, there is no change, no improvement. A lazy person goes through life unhappy and unfulfilled. Lazy people end up being jealous, envious of others and filled with resentment. Most of us struggle in certain areas of life with a lazy attitude. Don’t let yourself become passive when we should be active. Recognize the problem and commit to change.
- Average. Too often we compare ourselves to others and we are content with being mediocre. Mediocre results in moderate to low quality - neither good nor bad. Do we want to be known as settling for anything less than the best? Don’t get stuck half way between failure and success. Don’t do just enough to get by. Choose to move beyond mediocre and make a difference with your life.
- Excellence. You weren’t created for average. You were created to live in excellence! Everything we do should be done with an attitude of giving our best. Don’t just do it for the sake of other people. Do it for yourself. Know that you are living the best life you could be living. Excellence does not mean perfection. Excellence means an attitude of striving to present your top quality effort or work. The person with an attitude of excellence takes what they have been given to do and determines to do the best she can with it.
Consider the areas of your life; at what level are you living in the following areas:
- Your relationships
- Your health
- Your well-being
- Your inner spirit
- Your contribution to the world
Choose to be the person who does all things with excellence.
