There is a Proverb that says,
“All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
I know that for myself I judge my life by my intentions instead of by my actions. In my own mind, I allow myself a lot of grace because I know what my intentions are. My intentions are noble and good therefore I pass the test. But what truly matters in life are my actions and the thoughts and purposes with which I follow through on those actions. I can have good intentions but if I do not do anything about those good intentions I have still done - NOTHING! I wanted to, I intended to! But I did not do it.
I have a tendency to judge others on their actions but when I evaluate myself, I use the measuring stick of: “What were my intentions?” Not a very fair measuring method, is it?
So being honest with myself today, I will re-evaluate what my actions have really been like.
What were my actions (rather than my intentions) in the following areas:
- My marriage?
- My family relationships?
- My friendships?
- Feeding my inner spirit?
- My spending? (ouch!)
- My desire to make a difference in someone’s world?
- Smiling more? Laughing more? Enjoying life?
- Creating a day worth living?
- Building my home-based business?
It’s time to start implementing some action into those great intentions. Join me today as I choose 1 thing in each of the above categories to add to this week and change my week from good to great.
Create a Great Day!
